Abstract

In the last four years the Recall index increased by almost 600%. Automotive companies, have the certificate of management quality system according to ISO TS 16949. The main barrier to reject parts of poor quality, is a parts inspection system, before delivery to the final user or assembler, called Controlled Shipment Level 2 (CSL2). The objective of this research was to evaluate, among 20 automobile companies operating in Brazil, what are the criteria and standards to apply a CSL2. The result shows that only 51% of actions to deploy a CSL2 are common among companies. Thus, the CSL2, in order to become effective and to act in order to minimize the rejections and Recall levels, it is necessary further research among companies.
