The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of ZOE on the resin-dentin microshear bond strength (BS) of adhesive systems. The 36 flat occlusal dentine surfaces were removed. Half of the specimen was stored while the remaining specimens were restored with ZOE. After this period, ZOE was mechanically removed. Composite resin cylinders were made after applying three adhesive systems to dentin: Single Bond (SB), Clearfil SE(CSEB) and iBond. The BS test was performed. A “t” test of Student was applied for each adhesive system in order to evaluate the influence of eugenol on the BS values (=5%). Eugenol-containing provisional restorations should not be used before the placement of resin restorations bonded with self-etch adhesives systems.Downloads
