Abstract

In this study, the objective was to analyse, in the quantitative point of view, the possible alterations of the gait of 11 patients (eight male and three female), mean age of 61,7±16,4 years, diagnosis of CVA. It was investigated the following variables: base of support and step length through the method of plantar prints, at a distance of 5 meters. There was no significance between age and base of support; age and step length, and base of support and step length. The results of the comparative analysis between the step length of the left foot and the right foot did not present significant difference (p = 0,338), and the base of support was enlarged in the majority of the patients, resulting in a reduction of the step length.
