Abstract

From a sample of Amazons Brazilian youths, children and grandchildren of amazons parents and grandparents, with normal occlusion, it was determined through roentgenographiccep cephalometric, the medium values for the Wits appraisal. The sample in this study comprehended 30 youths: 15 boys and 15 girls, Amazons Brazilian with normal occlusion having not been submitted to orthodontic treatment. All of them with permanent teeth, in occlusion, except for the third molars and harmony profile with average age 21, 6 years. The results of the research evidence the necessity of using a cephalometric specific pattern for Amazons Brazilian. After the assessment of statistics results we established references of the classic special cephalometric standard where every variables literature assessed the normal standard. There were sexual dimorphism, for to measurement ANB. It was determined the standard measurement for every data evaluation, it was observed same differences between the standards value and those determined for the special literature.
