Abstract

In a group of young Brazilians of the state of Amazonas, sons and grandsons of parents from Amazonas, with normal occlusion, the medium angular cephalometric values were determined, used in the Ricketts Analysis by means of teleradiography in lateral norm. This study utilized a group of 30 young Brazilians: 15 male and 15 female, with mean age of 21, 6 years, not submitted to orthodontic treatment, with normal occlusion except for the third molars, and harmony profile. After the determination of medium values of normality for the cephalometric measures of Ricketts, and after the detection of no sexual dimorphism, the results of the research evidence the necessity of using a specific cephalometric pattern in Brazilians of the state of Amazonas.
