Abstract

Food habits are built starting from the familiar and the social environment experiences. In this context, the means of mass communication have largely contributed to the emergence of inadequate and wrong concepts concerning health in the search of an “ideal body”. This appeal has increased the transmission of improper and inadequate diets from the nutritional point of view. Internet appears as a more and more used mean of communication. However, due to the freedom principle that guides world web computers, it is impossible to control the contents about health information transmitted in it. As an example of it, innumerable inadequate food diets and regimens were found. The diets more frequently mentioned in the Internet were “Tuna Fish’s Diet”, “USP’s Diet”, “Points Diet” and “Liquids Diet”. The adequateness analysis carried out under RDA’s principles showed that all the diets are inadequate or incompatible with the individual’s health.
