Introduction: Intensive care units (ICUs) are considered because of stress of the professional team, being a closed environment in which professionals are subjected to a grueling pace of work that interferes with your physical condition. Objectives: To identify the risks of biomechanical engineers ICU nursing. Methods: This observational and sectional study with 26 employees, which made it possible to assess the biomechanical risk, with the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) scores with standardized software virtual group Ergonomic Workplace Solution and the analysis of Segment Overload Biomechanics (SSB) with CorelDRAW ® X4. Results: The tool Rula showed that the bathing of patients, performed by the evaluated score represents maximum risk, both by attitude as employed by the repetitiveness of the movements. Analysis of SSB was critical, especially on the angular position of the lumbar spine, by incorrect use of corporal biomechanics. Conclusion: This study showed that the subjects carry out activities that provide them with high biomechanical risks.Downloads
