Introduction: The hemiplegic patient has difficulty performing movements with motor control, which needs a training exercise based on trunk control. Objective: To investigate the effects of physiotherapy intervention in the trunk control in patients with hemiplegia relating them to functional ability (ADL). Methods: We performed the application of two scales – FIM (Functional Independence Measure) and EDT (Scale of Disability and brainstem) –, before and after physiotherapeutic intervention in ten patients with hemiplegia, two times per week, lasting 60 minutes. Results: There was significance (p ≤ 0.05) in intra-group analysis (p <0.0001) and intergroup (p <0.0048) and FIM scales EDT. Conclusion: We conclude that the action taken was effective in the acquisition of control of the trunk of hemiplegic patients, and helped to improve the performance of their daily life activities.Downloads
