Introduction: Strength training can promote favorable changes in cardiovascular function and has been used in cardiac rehabilitation programs. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of strength training in blood pressure (BP), anthropometrics variables and quality of life (QOL) in hypertensive subjects. Methods: For this, four hypertensive sedentary subjects were submitted to two evaluations, before and after 18 sessions of strength training. Results: The results showed no changes in BP values. QOL showed improvement in all volunteers and variable waist / hip ratio (W / HR) decreased in 50% of the sample. Conclusion: These data suggest that strength training did not influence the variables studied, however there was improvement in subject’s quality of life.Downloads
