Abstract

The tuberculosis has been one of the biggest problems of the world. This happens because besides expanding silently straight from the bacillus, it is capable of indirectly contaminate the people through its infectious variation associated to the HIV/AIDS. Brazil occupies the 15th place among the 22 countries responsible for 80% from the total of cases of tuberculosis in the world; the prevalence estimated is that about 50 million of infected, which 111 thousands are new cases and 6 thousands die per year. In this context, Paraiba has been recognized as one of the social and geopolitical spaces in Brazil that has supported the success of the program of tuberculosis’ control. Implanting in 184 cities of Paraiba, reaches 95% from the population. Thus, a reduction in the coefficient of incidence between the years 2000 and 2004, results of a group of social, technical, and political management in public health actions can be observed.
