Based on the innovation index produced by the Global Innovation Index (GII), in the last five years, Innovation Inputs from Brazil’s National Innovation System (NIS) are analyzed. The countries are grouped into four classes, each containing the same number of countries, according to similarity of performance. This type of grouping was important to identify trends. In cases where changes have occurred in the indicators used in the measurement of sub-pillars, counterfactual exercises were carried out to mitigate the effects of these changes in the evolution analysis of the innovation inputs. The results presented here show that the Institutions are the main bottleneck for the improvement of Brazil’s NIS.Downloads
