Abstract

The leather segment has a valuable role in contributing to economic development in several Brazilian cities. To do so, it is important to seek an efficient management which covers the whole production, with the aim of increasing the financial result, allowing the continuation of the activity. Faced with the lack of studies checked, this article has as general objective to diagnose through the Lean Supply Chain Management (LSCM) aspects of improvement in the management of the tannery tier in the chain of leather do Oeste Paulista. State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. To achieve the aims of the research, it was used as a method of research the case study of multiple type, with the conduct of visits in loco and application form in five research units. The results highlight that the pillars of Information Technology Management, Logistics Management and Continuous Improvement are the ones that need the most improvements and need to employ actions for improvement throughout the chain.
