Abstract

The efficient management of water can have a considerable impact on preservation. A natural resource that is essential for survival, and considered inexhaustible, it has been treated carelessly by public and private entities, making that scarce resource even scarcer. In healthcare there are few studies published among us, making it difficult to wake up leaders for the necessity of managing more effectively the consumption of water. In this article, certified Teaching Hospitals in the State of São Paulo have been monitored and compared as regards water consumption to the literature of other countries. The amount of existing articles came as a surprise, which shows that there is a concern, forcing us to discuss what goes on among us, allowinf for decisions and innovations to be taken about the issue.
