The study of cell-substrate interactions is of great importance in tissue engineering applications, particularly in order to determine implant biological properties response. The adhesion of cells on the substrate influences morphology as well as cell proliferation and viability. In this work, we examined adhesion, proliferation and viability of murine fibroblasts L929 on polymeric support. Bacterial cellulose membranes were used as substrate for the in vitro evaluation. Cells were cultivated on the membranes using Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM), supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) at 37°C, with 5% CO2. In order to monitor and evaluate cell behavior under different cultivation times on the membranes several cell parameters were chosen. Based on them, significant morphological differences were observed. Results showed good cell adhesion, growth, proliferation and viability on the tested bacterial cellulose membranes.Downloads
