Abstract

In this research, it is studied the analytical solution for the moment of bending of sheet metal on three cylinders. The computational numerical simulation to obtain the final radius of bending is implemented with the formulations. Residual stresses and springback are measured and compared with results cited in the references. In the problem formulation, it is shown that bending moment, distribution of residual stresses and springback can be expressed as a function of geometric parameters (radius of bend and thickness) and material properties (Young modulus, Poisson’s ratio, resistance coefficient, work-hardening index). The theoretical results will be compared with the experimental ones.
