CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT WITH FOCUS ON LEAN CONSTRUCTION: CASE STUDY IN CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES FROM THE INTERIOR OF MINAS GERAIS

This article aimed to identify and analyze the construction management methods adopted by the civil construction companies in a city in the interior of Minas Gerais, as well as the use of lean construction tools and techniques. For this purpose, case studies were carried out in nine construction companies through semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that most of the investigated construction companies do not use structured management methods, and the management is based mainly on the professional experience of managers. Regarding the lean construction tools and techniques adopted by most of the investigated construction companies, their use occurs in a more intuitive way, unrelated to the adoption of lean philosophy. Among the most commonly adopted in the investigated companies, the following stand out: standardized work, 5S, just in time and daily meetings.
