The urban streams are considered dynamic systems, with high complexity, which suffers continuous environmental impact from industry and domestic wastewater discharges, as the Pirajuçara Stream located in Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. The project activities have been the measurement of the physical, chemical and biological aspects for water quality evaluation of the urban stream with flood events that cross cities with dense population. The development of an adsorbent material immersed for a period in polluted urban waters, and submitted to analysis procedures, permitted to observe toxic compounds equivalents to the water existing ones and the information about the presence of toxic metals, organic compounds and the water eutrophic condition. The results present information for water quality studies on other rivers, streams, lakes and reservoirs with dense pollution located in metropolitan’s areas as the Aricanduva’s, Tamanduateí’s and many others streams.Downloads
