Abstract

The scientific studies about soccer game have gained attention in the academia. The subject can be approached from different perspectives: passion and social fact, which can be understood and studied within the area of knowledge of the social sciences and business area, specifically involving the business field. The aim of this study was to verify through a bibliometric study how soccer has been studied in the world in recent years. The results showed that, quantitatively, the sport has been most studied through approaches of Social Sciences of Business. However, the diversity of subjects verified in researches does not allow to fully understand either subject, within these broad areas, has being addressed with more emphasis over the period under review.
