Copyright – Use of Images and Content from Other Authors and Sources

If the article includes images, photographs, tables, media files, trademarks, logos, protocols, code, social media comments, etc., that were not created by the authors or co-authors, the following documentation and information must be provided upon submission:

1. Clearly indicate and provide proof that the material is in the public domain or licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0;
2. Provide written and signed authorization from the copyright holder, granting permission to use and publish the content under an open access CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

For photos featuring minors, authorization must be provided by their legal guardian.

Images previously published in other media—books, proceedings, journals, whether in print or digital formats—must also comply with the above requirements.

The following will not be accepted for publication:

• Images that have been blurred to obscure faces, brands, social media comments, etc., as this practice does not exempt us from potential violations of unlicensed rights;
• Purchased images, as they are generally not open access;
• Materials under licenses other than CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

Before including any image or external content in your article, consider the following:

• Was this content created by me?
• In what way will this content add value to the article I am submitting to the journal?
• Without this content, will the article fail to contribute meaningfully to the academic community?
• Is the original publication clearly and transparently under public domain or a compatible license?
• Do I have all necessary documentation to provide with my submission?

If proper authorization cannot be obtained, we will request the removal or substitution of the content.

Do not assume usage rights simply because you found an image online, on search engines, or social media, without an explicit usage license.

It is the author's responsibility to ensure they have legal rights to use all materials submitted for publication.

The PODIUM Editorial Team reserves the right—and duty—to remove any image, photo, table, media file, trademark, screenshot, logo, protocol, code, or other content, either before or after publication, if the authors fail to provide satisfactory documentation proving legal use under the public domain or CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

To assist with obtaining permission from legal copyright holders, we provide a template available for download

Authors must fill out detailed and clear information about the material they wish to reuse.

The moral and/or copyright holder should complete and sign the designated section. Using additional pages is acceptable depending on the volume of content. The PDF is editable. To convert it to Word, follow these steps:

1. Open Microsoft Word and locate the "Insert Object" option;
2. Click on "Text from File";
3. Select the PDF;
4. Click "OK" when prompted.

It is important to determine whether authorization must come from an individual author or an institution.
While it is the authors' responsibility to conduct this verification, we are available to clarify any doubts that may arise.
