The proposal in this work is to present the main physiological effect of the electric chain passing in the human body: electric shock. It is initiated with the presentation of basic concepts of the electric energy, necessary as theoretical basis in the development of the subject. In the sequence we present an exposition of the physiology of the main effect caused to the human body under the medical optics regarding tetanus, ventricular fibrillation, cardiorespiratory stops and burns. We approach the physiological of the variables in the human body and the consequences of the effect. Finally, the focus is on the security measures in services dealt with electricity, involving the accidental risks, collective protections and individual protections. One concludes that due to the several and serious effect of the applied electric chain to the human body, the attendance of the installation norms, protection and operational security is imperative to guarantee the integrity of the users.Downloads
