Abstract

The competitive nature of markets with a focus on purely economic issues, although it is a necessary condition to remain competing in some industry sector, is no longer a sufficient condition. Social and environmental aspects have become part of the strategic agenda of decision makers and have been incorporated into the scope of objectives that guide corporate decisions. In this sense, the present article proposed the application of the Value Focused Thinking (VFT) methodology in conjunction with the PROMETHEE II decision support method to identify and prioritize socio-environmental actions in an organizational context. The methodology used has a qualitative and quantitative nature based on applications from the field of Operational Research. Finally, with the intention of validating the proposed model, a case study is presented as an object of investigation.
