Environmental management: a revision that classifies and analyzes the works on Production Engineering showing perspectives of future surveys

Abstract

Environmental Management is characterized as the area within Production Engineering which plans, develops and devises projects that seek the environmental protection. In recent years, its importance has grown, mainly due to the debates around the sustainability concept and climate changes happening throughout the globe. This article hopes to highlight the Environmental Management area and provide researchers with a map on the current state-of-the-art related to articles published over the last five years. For reaching this goal, a bibliographic survey was done, which allowed, by classifying the articles, to check several aspects like: sub-areas being surveyed, type of survey, scope, focus of survey and the most commonly researched themes.
