In this study we aimed to identify and analyze the most relevant studies on the use of BPM (Business Process Management) in logistics. In order to achieve this goal, we performed a bibliometric analysis of the main publications in international journals and, subsequently, a systematic review of a selected sample consisting of 23 articles. The 23 studies were selected from Web of Science and Scopus databases based on their direct alignment with our research aim. This study showed the most cited articles, the most relevant journals, the academic relevance of authors and articles selected, as well as the current situation and future of research in this field. We conclude through this systematic analysis that the main issues discussed involve business process reengineering, supply chain management, information technology, and optimization of logistics costs.
