Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effect of Knowledge Management, Project Governance, and Benefits Management on Project Success and its impact on Organizational Performance. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to 82 professionals working in project management. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the generated theoretical model and hypotheses. As a result, it is highlighted that the only relationship not empirically supported was that of knowledge management on project success. The supported hypotheses were that benefits management positively influences project success, that project governance positively influences project success, that project success positively influences organizational performance. This study contributes to a growing body of evidence, which argues that project governance is necessary for organizations to maximize their success and their relationship with organizational performance. As the main contribution, this study reinforces the need for further studies, as stakeholders see the need for projects to be aligned with organizational objectives and that they need to deliver desired benefits defined by stakeholders.
