The intense increase in the generation of waste associated with disposal practices corroborates the need to develop alternatives for the reuse of solid materials in the environment. Among these materials, vegetable residual oil (OVR) stands out, which has a polluting potential and is used in commercial establishments and employees? In this sense, the present study presents a review of the reverse chain of the OVR destined to the manufacture of biodiesel by carrying out a systematic review of the literature. In this way, it is possible to investigate and provide information on the factors related to the articulation and institution of this chain, as well as to mitigate the gaps in the discussions presented in the literature on a relevant issue.
