Characterized by heterogeneous activities in comparison to the industrial sector, the service sector gains each year greater relevance in the participation of the Brazilian economy according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE in Portuguese). Considering an institute focused on the interdisciplinary research and development service, this article aims to present in a structural way, the activities and operational practices developed during the management of the supply chain in the organization of itinerant scientific events. To achieve this goal, the research was conducted in a non-profit association based in Rio de Janeiro, but with a national presence, focused on disseminating information and knowledge of production engineering. Techniques such as document analysis and semi-structured interviews were considered to collect data related to logistics operations while planning, developing and delivering the services, as well as the management carried out in the processes of acquisition of inputs. As a result, a framework for the supply chain management in the production of scientific events was proposed in order to offer systematic solutions in the management of this type of events.Downloads
