Abstract

The management of innovation and entrepreneurship in Brazilian universities has been the subject of evidence and importance, with the Covid-19 pandemic these two major areas have gained greater prominence. This experience report narrates the creation and promotion of the UFTM Innovation Agency (AGUIN), a sector responsible for the growth and dissemination of an entrepreneurial and innovation culture within the UFTM (Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro). To achieve the present, a survey was carried out in several documents. Using broadly exploratory and descriptive research, the evolution and contextualization of AGUIN was traced through an analysis of the data and their discussion. After the analysis, it was possible to perceive the need to bring the university closer to the productive sector based on the theory of the Triple Helix to highlight and materialize the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in favor of society. The change to a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in universities is a gradual task that entails several actions, the present report acts as a tool for managers of other institutions to understand the reality of UFTM and the mechanisms until then used by it.
