Practices that Characterize the International Entrepreneurial Orientation: A Study in Vineyards of Southern Brazil

Objetivo: Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar práticas empreendedoras que caracterizam a Orientação Empreendedora Internacional (OEI) em empresas vinícolas internacionalizadas do Sul do Brasil.
Método: A pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa foi exploratória e descritiva. O método foi o estudo de casos múltiplos, em 10 empresas vinícolas participantes do projeto Wines of Brasil. Os dados foram coletados por meio de pesquisa documental e de campo, sendo esta última realizada por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. A análise ocorreu por meio da triangulação de dados, utilizando-se a técnica de análise de conteúdo, apoiada pelo software Atlas.ti.
Relevância/originalidade: As evidências empíricas indicam a relevância da OEI no contexto da gestão das organizações. Também destacamos as sugestões de pesquisas futuras em função da limitada ênfase dos fatores que caracterizam os elementos desencadeadores das dimensões da OEI no processo de internacionalização das organizações.
Principais resultados: Verificamos maior ocorrência das práticas empreendedoras nas dimensões Inovatividade Internacional e Proatividade Internacional. Nas dimensões Assunção ao Risco Internacional, Agressividade Competitiva e Autonomia Internacional, as práticas foram identificadas com menor ocorrência. Os resultados comprovam a multidimensionalidade da OEI.
Contribuições teóricas / metodológicas: Este estudo contribui para ampliar a pesquisa referente à OEI no cenário brasileiro, e analisar suas dimensões no contexto de gestão das organizações da indústria vinícola brasileira.
Implicações para a gestão: Em termos práticos, este estudo colabora para que executivos e gestores, interessados na temática, possam obter subsídios sobre quais são as melhoras práticas para desenvolver a OEI na gestão de negócios internacionais.
