Abstract

This article aims demonstrate the application of Group Technology in supply and procurement area. The lack of organization and planning of this department can generate large costs and expenses to organizations causing loss of competitiveness. This analysis was done using a case study accomplished in a multinational conglomerate of industrial companies, which has implemented the Group Technology in its procurement and supply department getting great benefits and improvements that will be shown in this work, such as large cost reduction, more organization of the materials registered in the procurement integrated system, greater speed and agility in the procurement process, the greater reliability of the materials provided to avoid damage to the productive process and other improvements.
