This study examines the variation in productivity in the state of São Paulo industries and the adoption of management strategies, methods and techniques of production and quality. There are companies that showed productivity gains in the period embraced the strategy, methods and manufacturing techniques, allowing to comment on the causality between the adoption of strategies, methods and techniques and productivity gains. It was found that certain strategies, methods and techniques were used mostly by companies that had gains, while others have been adopted by companies that had losses of productivity in an analysis for the industry as a whole. Subsector, a few homogeneous behaviors were identified, indicating that there is variation from sector to sector. It´s possible identify which shares of companies in each sector were mostly aimed at diversification, reduction of growth or restructuring activities.Downloads
