Objective: This technological report aims to show how social capital was used as a strategy for the development of the lemon producers' supply chain in northern Minas Gerais.
Method: The research method of the technological report focuses on the exposure of practical results based on the theory, which, together with the case study, enabled the deepening of the specific situation of the northern Minas Gerais Association. A semi-structured script for the interviews and on-site visit were used for data collection.
Originality: The lemon supply chain is still little explored in academia in terms of managerial research, especially in the northern Minas Gerais region. In addition, presenting practical results from the use of social capital demonstrates the relevance of the study.
Main results: ASLIM's current recognition in the national and international scenario proves that social capital was an assertive strategy for the development and improvement of the lemon supply chain. The associated producers had not only financial gains, but also structural, managerial, operational, and technical progress.
Contributions: The research contributes to the development of the social capital theme in the lemon supply chain, in addition to serving as an example for other producing regions that face similar problems.
