The implementation of rationalization of methods, standardization, and management of activities aiming to maximize productivity has become essential for organizations, considering their capacity for interrelating with the environment and adapting to it. The present paper was based on the study methodology of time and motion and seeks to understand the importance of task optimization through techniques and methods that drive the processes of eliminating waste and controlling the operation of mobile equipment activities to perform mechanized industrial cleaning. An exploratory approach was used in a case study through an examination of literature seeking to explain a given situation based on a theoretical framework and the development of a checklist as the method of analysis. After the completion of the research, it was possible to verify how the application of the time and motion study contributed to an increase in productivity and other associated gains.
