Abstract

Reflection of the globalized world – which has changed the profile of the countries – there is integration between states, with the improved model, the European Union, produced in the economic context of the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community in 1951 that united two countries arch-rivals – France and Germany – whose goal was dismissing the threat of a new conflict post-World War II. Over time, following an order regular basis, the increase was that mentality, conditioning the states of Western Europe to a new supranational organization. While the European Union was formed by the need for lasting peace, MERCOSUR, for now, has a clearly economic character. Created officially from the 3 rd Meeting of Presidents of South America, the South American Community of Nations is the result of more than ten years of discussions between the presidents of the member countries of MERCOSUR and the Andean Community.
