Abstract

This article refers to some results from the research “The history of Legal judiciary assistance Aid in Sao Paulo state” developed by teachers of UNINOVE’s law course during 2008 and 2009. The article starts from the organized movement aiming at the creation of the paulista Legal Aid and analyses some of the obstacles that have been put in place to prevent this institution from providing wider access to justice to the low income segment of the population, substituting judiciary assistance by good quality Legal Aid.
