Scope and Submission Policy
ConScientiae Saúde is a scientific journal aimed at disseminating the results of scientific research in the field of evaluation and rehabilitation, with an interdisciplinary approach, based on methodological criteria in healthcare.
Article Categories
ConScientiae Saúde publishes original and unpublished articles, including systematic reviews, clinical trials, clinical trial protocols, case studies, pilot studies, and cross-sectional studies, of interest to clinicians and researchers in the field of rehabilitation, under the following categories:

Original research, presenting clinical trials or cross-sectional studies;

Systematic review articles, with or without meta-analysis. Narrative reviews will not be accepted;

Letters to the Editor, including Rapid Communications, Reports, Technical Notes, and letters expressing comments or differing opinions on articles recently published in ConScientiae Saúde.
Original Article – Clinical Trial: A contribution aimed at disseminating original and unpublished research results on relevant topics. It must follow CONSORT criteria. The structure should include: Title in Portuguese and English, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, and References. The manuscript should be between 3,000 and 4,500 words. References should have at least 20 and a maximum of 30 citations.
Case Reports: Or series of cases, will be published as long as they present clinically significant data or innovation for the respective field of knowledge. The registration number validated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) must be provided, with links available on the ICMJE website. The structure should include: Title in Portuguese and English, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, and References. The manuscript should be between 1,500 and 2,000 words. References should have at least 10 and a maximum of 20 citations.
Systematic Review: With or without meta-analysis, it must first be registered in PROSPERO and include the registration number. Follow PRISMA criteria. The manuscript should be between 3,000 and 5,500 words. References should have at least 20 and a maximum of 30 citations.
Clinical Protocol: Describes the methods used by the author to address a clinical treatment challenge. It must follow CONSORT criteria. The structure should include: Title in Portuguese and English, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Brief Discussion, and References. The manuscript should be between 1,500 and 2,000 words and include a maximum of 4 figures. References should have at least 10 and a maximum of 20 citations.
Cross-sectional Study: Describes the methods used to address a snapshot or cross-section of a population through sampling, examining the presence or absence of exposure and the presence or absence of effect (or disease). It must follow the STROBE Statement Checklist for cross-sectional studies. The structure should include: Title in Portuguese and English, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, and References. The manuscript should be between 3,000 and 4,500 words. References should have at least 20 and a maximum of 30 citations.
Letter to the Editor: Should include evidence supporting the author’s position on the scientific content, and must be limited to 500 words. Figures or tables are not allowed.
Research Involving Human Subjects
Manuscripts involving human subjects must clearly indicate approval of the protocols by a Research Ethics Committee registered with CONEP. Photographs that may identify patients or other human study participants will only be accepted with valid permission signed by the patient or their legally authorized representative.
