Abstract

The aim of this paper is to discuss the State Plan for Education of the State of São Paulo. Amongst the proposals, we highlighted the implementation of an institutional evaluation system, which will enable the State Secretariat of Education to manage the results and adopt a policy of incentive, all in accordance with the old Taylorist principles. We understand that by these principles being present in the policy of incentive, the Secretariat moves the spotlight from teachers to Pedagogical Coordinator Teachers, Educational Supervisors and School Directors, proposing ways of training and supervision these professionals work in the name of a “continuing education and team capacitating”. However, none of the measures or actions proposed addresses to the emerging social issues that border the daily school life and continuously interfere in development of the work of the educational professionals. Improving effectively the remuneration of school worker is to recognize the importance of education and to confirm the commitment to the needs of a part of society that suffers from the growing social inequality caused by capitalist development.
