Abstract

The critical reflection made on this paper about the curricular proposal contained in the “São Paulo faz escola” program of the State Secretary of Education of São Paulo for its schools unities aims to deepen the comprehension about the sense of the school practice transformation intended by the reformers. The intentions of transforming the school culture are explicit on the reform documents with the objectives of changing the state schools profile and of improving the teaching quality indicators. The proposal brings the curriculum as a cultural space that has the development of competences as the learning axis and in which the contents are contextualized on the working reality. We question the difficulties faced by the teacher on the appropriation and objectification of the curricular proposal in the day to day school life. The reflection developed here is part of an ongoing investigation within the Line of Research in Politics and Educational Practices of the PPGE of Uninove, which has the objective of apprehending the senses taken by the objectification of the reform in the school practice, especially concerning to its curricular dimension and in its political, organizational and pedagogical aspects.
