Abstract

The expansion of elementary school to nine years, approved by the Federal Law nº 11.274/2006 and that should be implemented in public and private system throughout the country until the year 2010, has provided several discussions about the viability of this proposal, the different possibilities of school organization, the initiatives of continuing education adapted to teachers, and the conditions for teaching and learning to be offered to students, from 6 (six) years of age at this level of education. Thus, the main challenges indicated along the text are: a) the regulatory infidelity of teachers facing the requests imposed by the Federal Law nº 11.274/2006 and official documents; b) the epistemological conception of evaluation that involves its practice; c) the formal and informal plan of evaluation of learning, and d) to structure the evaluation practice before the possibilities of organizing elementary school.
