Introduction: The investigation of occupational conditions and risks with a biopsychosocial approach in the diagnosis of the health condition of rural workers is generally neglected in the health services. Therefore, some functional disabilities are not identified. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the physical health of agricultural workers through the perspective of the functionality recommended by the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), which has a biopsychosocial model of multiple and related domains. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with a descriptive and analytical approach in agricultural workers exposed to pesticides. Results: 99 agricultural workers participated in the study. It was observed that the body function domain presented greater deficits, in which the pain was the predominant disability in the farmers, with impacts on the work (domain participation) and, consequently, worse quality of life (mostly embracing contextual factors). Conclusion: The ICF can be used to assist not only physical therapists but multidisciplinary health teams in determine disabilities. It can be also used in the linking between health situation with occupational conditions, as well as with the various aspects involved in the lives of workers and their environment.
