The morphodynamic seasonal behavior of the Indaiá Beach, at Bertioga (SP), Brazil, was studied over the period between the fall of 2003 to the summer of 2003-2004. The samplings were made twice a season and identified as Fall 1 and Fall 2, Winter 1 and Winter 2, Spring 1 and Spring 2, and Summer. These samplings were carried on spring tide at the morning period. The profiles were identified as P1 close to the rocky shore from Enseada headland, P3 was positioned on the most exposed area of the beach and P2 was located in an intermediate position between P1 and P3. The results show a gradual hydrodynamic exposition to the waves which increases from P1 do P3. P2 was larger then P1 and P3, and for the seasonality the profiles were larger in the spring and narrower in the winter. The slope was higher in the winter and smoother in the summer. The conclusions are: Indaiá Beach a gradual hydrodynamic waves exposition increasing from P1 to P3; the profiles a strong erosion on winter with sandy accretion in summer; the beachurbanization reclaimed the dunes and berma along the beach.Downloads
