Abstract

The musculoskeletal disorders related to work are considered, among the occupational diseases, a serious problem in the field of occupational health. These disorders have multifactorial origin, including psychosocial, individual, and occupational factors. The Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is considered a peripheral compressive neuropathy associated to the group work related musculoskeletal disorders, and it can be related to occupational activities, resulting from compression of the median nerve in the wrist. This case study aims to identify the various forms of application of physiotherapy in the treatment of CTS, presenting the main methods and techniques used in the physiotherapeutic treatment. It was observed that there is a diversity of interventions and treatments to prevent the progression of the disease, in which the physiotherapist can establish a proper behavior according to its stage.
