Symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders related to the exercise of assistance physical therapy

Introduction: The professional activity involves the physiotherapist requirements of the musculoskeletal system. Objective: Identify the symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders in physiotherapists in Jequié-BA. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with 21 professionals working in clinics and hospitals in the city of Jequié- BA. The data were obtained from the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire, and analyzed by using descriptive statistics and Fisher’s exact test, with values at the 5% (p <0.05). Results: There was a high occurrence of symptoms over a period of 12 months (95.23%) and in the last 7 days (71.43%), which prevented some of these individuals to carry out their professional activities. The regions most affected were the neck (71.43%), lumbar region (57.14%) and wrist / hands (52.38%). Conclusion: Given the results, we should stress the need for ergonomic analysis of work in order to subsidize preventive and control these diseases.Downloads
