Objective: To analyze the electromyographic activity of the lower abdominal muscle and thigh adductor, on terrestrial and aquatic activities with women and men’s indoor soccer players. Method: For this research, 30 athletes were tested, 15 males and 15 females. The electric activity of the two muscles was recorded by a surface electromyography. The statistical softwares, Matlab and Prisma, were used to determine differences between the values of RMS of each muscle and on each exercise, normalized by the maximum volunteer isotonic contraction. Results: The results show that the lower abdominal muscle presented less electromyographic activity on both groups; while the thigh adductor muscle showed a greater electromyographic activity on both groups in the aquatic environment during the kick movement. Conclusion: It was verified that the kick movement in aquatic environment causes a greater electric activity of the muscle, besides it helps to prevent lesions in articulations, muscles and tendons.Downloads
