Resilience and health: an analysis of quality of life in elderly

Introduction: It is necessary that the old people are prepared to face possible challenges and difficulties, being important the reserve of resilience, for a better adaptation of them to this stage of life. Objective: To analyze the resilience through the emotional profile of elderly in a group of multidisciplinary care. Methods: Questionnaires of Sociodemographic Characteristics, Assessment of Quality of Life (SF-36) and Lifestyle and Successful Aging. Categorization of the responses by content analysis and organization into diagrams, resulting in the emergence of macrocategories. Results: The elderlies showed control on the emotions, which provided higher level of resilience and better quality of life. Conclusion: When elderlies learn to deal with obstacles and limitations resulting from aging, they experience a healthy old age.Downloads
