Introduction: The treatment of breast cancer can cause variation in body weight associated with worse prognosis and cardiovascular risk. Objective: Determine the association between adjuvant therapy for breast cancer and anthropometric variables and their respective indexes. Method: Cross-sectional study with 65 patients in the treatment or control of breast cancer. Anthropometric evaluation was conducted in the post treatment period, and compared with the measures contained in the pretreatment records. Results: Prevalence of overweight was found in 43,0% patients, obesity in 37,0%. There was no significant variation in the BMI pre and post treatment (p=0,328). Relative of individual variation in weight pre and post treatment, 64,62% gained weight and 26,15% this variation was greater than 10% and 16,92% lost more than 10% of initial weight. Conclusion: The treatment did not affect the anthropometric variables of the group, remained pre-obese and obese during the treatment being associated with the worst prognosis and risk for cardiovascular disease.Downloads
