Introduction: There is little evidence of the relationship between maternal hemodynamic parameters and the Borg scale during physical exercise. Objective: To evaluate the relationship between the Borg scale and patterns of maternal heart rate and mean arterial pressure in pregnant women subjected to aerobic exercise. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with healthy pregnant women who were selected through a convenience sample, subjected to progressive aerobic treadmill test; assessing maternal HR, MAP, and level of perceived exertion during the proposed exercise until volitional fatigue. Results: Mean arterial pressure had a significant progressive increase up to the level of strenuous exercise (p = 0.04), whereas the heart rate shows no significant gradual increase (p> 0.05) at all levels of the Borg scale. Conclusions: Borg scale in activities with pregnant women shall be applied with an upper limit relatively easy level during the exercise program.Downloads
