Abstract

Introduction: Rhythmic Gymnastics athletes after orthopedic injuries present sensorimotor features changed and should be focused on sensory motor rehabilitation programs in order to obtain a better return to pre-injury activities. Objective: To develop a proposal for proprioceptive training for athletes of Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) and evaluate the effects of training on postural balance. Methodology: a specific proprioceptive training was conducted for the sport in the four-week period where the athletes were evaluated in the pre-intervention and post-intervention time on a force platform. Results: When assessed the area of the COP, in the three tested positions, it was observed that after the intervention there was an improvement in the balance in the unipodal right and unipodal left positions, as well as bipedal balance also showed improvement. Conclusion: The application of a protocol for proprioceptive mode, produces significant effect on balance and postural disorders.
