Introduction: Quality of life (QOL) includes conditions that affect the perception of the individual, their feelings, their behaviors and encompasses physical, psychological factors, social relationships, independence, beliefs and environment. Objective: To evaluate and compare the QOL of Pilates practitioners and sedentary individuals. Method: We used profile questionnaire, the Visual Pain Scale (VAS) and QOL assessment by WHOQOL-Bref. The participants were 200 individuals (100 practitioners of Pilates / Group 1 and 100 sedentary / Group 2). Results: The mean QOL scores in Group 1 was higher in all evaluated areas when compared to Group 2. Group 1 had lower scores on the VAS. There are regular and significant negative correlations between the total number of referred pain and QOL in the physical and psychological aspects in both groups. Conclusion: There was no statistically significant difference in QOL of sedentary and Pilates practitioners, and those with higher QOL.Downloads
