Abstract

Introduction: The Physical activity is present in the people’s daily lives; however, this habit isn’t regular in disabled people. Objectives: The aim of this study was to verify the level of regular physical activity of adults with visual impairment and its association with health-related anthropometric measures (AntMea). Methods: 43 subjects (21 M and 22 W, 38.81 ± 11.22 years) had 17 anthropometric measures taken, using ISAK standardization, and calculated. The level of physical activity was determined using the IPAQ short version. Results: Only a few AntMea (WHR, C INDEX and % FAT) had an association with the level of physical activity in women (p = 0.031, p = 0.06 and p = 0.039, respectively). Conclusion: There was little association between AntMea and visual impairment. However, this can be explained in part by other factors that influence the anthropometric measurements, such as imbalance between caloric intake and expenditure, and these data were not collected.
