Introduction: After a stroke, patients undergo rehabilitation services, but part of the recovery will occur at home. Objectives: To evaluate the adherence to the home program for patients with stroke sequelae. Methods: Clinical questionnaires were performed in nine individuals with post-stroke sequelae. Then, the guidance manual with home exercises was delivered and explained. After 15 days a telephone contact was made to emphasize the importance of following the guidelines and at the end of 30 days the reevaluation was carried out. Results: In thirteen of the seventeen tasks the patients adhered to the guidelines. In 14 tasks less than half the patients performed for more than 80%. The most cited barriers were: difficulty, pain and demotivation. The facilitators were: expectation of recovery and guidelines manual. Conclusion: Patients with stroke sequelae showed low adherence to the prescribed guidelines at home, however they showed improvement in mobility after the physiotherapy guidelines.
